A rule of conduct that is unconditional or absolute for all agents, the validity or claim of which does not depend on any desire or end(= justified as an end in itself)
commands or moral laws all persons must follow, regardless of their desires or extenuating circumstances. As morals, these imperatives are binding on everyone
a truly good act is one that can become a universal law
"imperative" means any proposition that declares certain action to be necessary
Contrasted with Hypothetical imperatives
If..... ex: “Do not steal if you want to be popular.”
